अखिल भारतीय श्री मीना सामाजिक एवं शैक्षणिक समिति कोटा की स्थापना वर्ष 2006 में शिक्षा के प्रति समर्पित एक संस्था के रूप में हुई थी। यह संस्था आधुनिक शिक्षा के प्रचार एवं प्रसार के लिए शिक्षण संस्थाओं की स्थापना, प्रबंधन आदि में सहयोग प्रदान करती है। इस संस्था ने विशेष रूप से हाड़ोती क्षेत्र के आदिवासी समाज, वंचितों एवं अक्षम परन्तु प्रतिभावान विद्यार्थियों को मुख्य धारा में जोड़ने के लिए रियायती शुल्क पर आधुनिक सुविधाओं सहित उच्च शिक्षा उपलब्ध कराने के लिए एक विश्वविद्यालय की आवश्यकता महसूस की। अतः इस आवश्यकता को देखते हुए 'जय मीनेश आदिवासी विश्वविद्यालय (MAU), राजपुर (कोटा) के नाम से निजी क्षेत्र में देश के प्रथम आदिवासी विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना वर्ष 2022 में की है। जिसका प्रथम सत्र जुलाई 2023 से प्रारम्भ होगा।
